How to Direct Awards to Kai Fusion
The first step in the direct award process is to clearly define procurement needs by developing a statement of work,
estimating costs, and securing funding. Engaging key stakeholders early ensures alignment with project goals and budget constraints, leading to a more efficient procurement strategy.
Confirm Kai Fusion status as an active SBA 8(a) participant through the SBA Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS) or by contacting the SBA. The government program manager then selects Kai Fusion as the qualified 8(a) vendor and submits a procurement
request to the agency’s contracting officer, initiating the award process.
The contracting officer submits an offering letter to the SBA District Office, identifying Kai Fusion as the intended 8(a) firm. The letter should include:
· Project description and scope
· Estimated contract value
· Period of performance
